This was a custom-built triathlon bike with a set-up for Ironman Australia. The priority was to maximise both comfort and speed over long distances.
Build Features
The Cervelo P Series was the perfect frame choice, designed for speed and comfort due to its light weight and aerodynamics.
Fast, light Zipp 303 S were chosen for their versatility and were a fast option that were not too deep for a light rider. Gearing that would be suitable on the hilly Ironman Australia Port Macquarie course was desired, so a SRAM Force AXS 2x groupset was chosen to allow logical and intuitive shifting. We also added a Quarq power meter, an ever-reliable and accurate option.
Profile Design SVET-R basebar, riser kit and 4525c carbon extensions were used for the aero bars, offering a fast & aerodynamic design in a position that is comfortable for the rider over long distance races. A JCOB Type 5 saddle was also added.
Biomechanical and Comfort Features
To optimise the biomechanics for the rider’s height, short 165mm cranks were chosen.
