This Parlee RZ7 was built to replace a previous road bike that had been well used, hence this one would have to withstand similar amounts of use. Starting with the Parlee RZ7 frame, as it has disc brakes, integrated cabling and the capacity for wide tyres. The attraction of electronic 12-speed gearing offered by the SRAM Force AXS groupset couldn’t be turned down, as this was the chance to upgrade a bike that will see several thousand kilometres. A custom paint job was opted for as a chance to separate this bike from the others in the garage.
The bike is equipped with ENVE’s Foundation 45 wheelset, providing an optimal balance of weight and aerodynamics in a wheel that is capable of all types of road riding. Rolling on the Foundation 45s are a pair of Vittoria Corsa Graphene 2.0s, providing plenty of grip in all conditions in a 28mm width.
The bike is propelled by the SRAM Force AXS groupset, providing gears for all conditions in a 2x configuration. A Quarq AXS Spider powermeter is equipped to better gauge the effort level. The RZ7 has SpeedShields to protect the disc brake rotors from the wind, improving aerodynamics.
The two-piece bar & stem combo offered by Parlee for the RZ7 allows the hydraulic brake lines to be hidden from view, providing a clean look to the front of the bike. This is aided by traditional black bar tape, from Arundel on this bike. Similarly, a Selle SMP Glider saddle provides the other contact point on this bike.
