This Colnago V2R was built for a junior building their final bike, and after a season of criterium racing, they decided they wanted something fast. Hence they built this bike to specifications that would allow them to have plenty of fun on this bike.
The Colnago V2R was the frame chosen through a frame selection, ideal for the grand Fondo style riding that this rider enjoys. It would also prove to capable enough through its more aggressive geometry and disc brakes.
The bike is equipped with SRAM Force AXS, providing 12-speed gearing and wireless shifting. This means that all courses are game on, with a higher top speed and easy climbing gear than would be found on a normal 11-speed gearing setup.
An additional feature to the SRAM Force groupset is the AXS Blips, which allow for the placement of two buttons which act like the shifter paddles. This rider spends a lot of time with their hands on the flats, hence has put them on either side of the stem.
The bikes position has been carried across from the rider’s previous bike, and with little growth expected, it has been left rather aggressive. This decision was based on the competitive nature of how the bike is being ridden, as well as the inherent flexibility of a junior athlete. A Retul frame selection was still done to ensure the correct fit, however.
The DT Swiss E1800 Spline provide a high-quality training wheel, paired with the high stopping power of disc brakes, this is a good ride. The ride quality is further improved through the tubeless nature of the Continental GP5000 TL, which provides a better ride quality with increased grip.
A Supacaz saddle is an optimal choice for this rider, fitting them well, and in a variety of their riding positions. Similarly, Zipp Service Course SL-70 Ergo bars allow the rider to have the ideal reach to both the hoods and the drops. The bike is also equipped with the Zipp Service Course stem in the updated graphics.
This is one nice bike and is ideal for a bike that can accomplish all of what the rider will ask of it.
